It will be great if we have built-in function for correlation coefficient in Asset Analytics, similarly as it is in ProcessBook in xy plots. This would enable us to quickly get estimate on correlation of two variables.

I agree that this would be a great feature. I thought I would mention that this feature will be available in the upcoming PI Vision release in the XY plot symbol. You can optionally display the correllation coefficient and regression line for your two variables.
I think it would be even better to have this functionality in asset analytics though, that way the coefficient could be historized, and possibly used in other calculations.
Hi Michael, thanks for letting us know it will be visualized in the xy plot. Having it available as Analysis will be great for the reasons you mentioned below, historized etc. Ideally this will be available for the duration of an Event Frame, so hopefully soon.
