Dynamic element search/view for rollup

As a user of Asset Analytics I would like to have more flexibility in including elements in my rollup calculation so that I would not need to build large hierarchies just for the purpose of rollup analyses.

The current design strikes a balance between flexibility and performance. We currently have no plans to allow rollups beyond the current limitations.

One such flexibility option would be to allow rollup analyses to include attributes of grand child elements.

Along the lines of Alexandru's suggestion, there could be a "search full hierarchy" option for the rollup.

This dynamic rollup should store a list of Elements that met the rollup criteria for a given execution. This list should be available in PI clients so that users can see which of their Elements contributed to a given roll-up result.

Yes, our hierarchy allows for grouping by the type of material that the instrumentation measures (below equipment level) so this is an issue for us - workaround at the moment is to shape a simpler hierarchy to get around the problem. As I mentioned in 17219897, the ability to concatenate string text as part of the roll-up will also be useful from a data quality exception detection perspective because it simplifies the number of events generated on data point (PI Tag) level.

Similar to request from Alexandru, customer from RWE wants the ability to select inputs from elements a specific number of levels down the hierarchy. They want to expose the rollup at the higher level but want to skip the intermediate elements.

We would need to make rollup calculations on siblings elements

In our hierarchy attributes with values to be summarized are on level 4 and 5. So we need an unlimited deep search for attributes.
