The current manual step to Create or Update Data Reference allows the user a final check before PI Points are created. Since changes to a template can affect many element instances therefore we feel this final manual step can avoid accidents that may cause too many PI Points to be created inadvertently and possibly affecting the PI Data Archive license count.
As such, we have no plans to implement this idea.
