Add support for clipboard "cut" operation in PI System Explorer

As a user, I want to be able to perform clipboard "cut" operations in PI System Explorer, so that I can remove an object and store it in the clipboard for later use.

The "cut" or "move" functionality has not been implemented in PI System Explorer yet, but would be a useful feature. When it is implemented, it will work similar to cut & paste of files in Windows where it will not delete the source until it has been copied to the destination.

I don't think that it's a good idea to remove the object before it is pasted. What if you closed out of PI System Explorer or what if PI System Explorer crashed before you could paste the object?

The Cut/Paste should function the same as it does in Windows. The "cut" isn't permanent until the "paste" has been performed. Any exit of PI SE would undo the "cut"

David, can you please clarify your remark? I know that Cut/Paste works for text, but what I think people are mainly requesting (at least multiple customers and partners I've interacted with) is the ability to Cut and paste Attributes. It's not unusual when building elements and/or element templates in AF to decide that you need to move attributes from one element to another. Currently, we have to Copy/Paste attributes and then go back to the original element and Delete the attributes that were copied over. Additionally, Cut/Paste would be handy for moving elements around the hierarchy rather than the slower and more touchy Shift+Drag & Drop. I'm using the 2017 R2 client and like previous versions, I am unable to see a way to cut and paste attributes or elements. Would this be something that could be included in a future release?
