PI AF - Event Frame Naming Pattern

The need and desire is there to be able to further customize event frame names via AF Analysis. I would like the ability to name my event from an Attribute value. In my case this would pull in the BatchID and give the event frame a name of 1001, 1002 and so on for new events. We can do this in Event Frames Generator but it's not ideal when we only need to correct events for one element we end up touching all of them during a restart or backfill.     This is necessary to help utilize better naming of all events that we need to track, including downtime, outage events, etc. Very limiting currently.

    Just had this with Oxy (EA customer) Having to make them use EFGen so they can name their event frames based on the value of a PI tag.

    Hi Chris, now AF 2017R2 is here, we don't have this feature in that yet. Any new ETA for this feature?

    Development is ongoing, should be in AF 2017 R2 release. It did not get into the AF 2017 R2 CTP due to timing.

    I've encountered many instances where I want to name an event frame based on a lot number which is contained within an attribute. Like twipf mentioned, the current functionality is very limiting and forces us to use EFGEN.

    This feature is most wanted - we have to PI tags : Batch_Active and Batch_ID - thoose two combined would make the Event frame. The only way to do this now is by the Evenframe Genrator, correct ?
