Current functionality:
When changing a point from digital set A to digital set B, all events going forward will use digital set B. If you do not reprocess the archives, the events that were archived before the digital state was changed remain associated with the changed set (digital set A).
Problem:
Depending on the age of the point you may need to reprocess 1000's of archives.
reprocessing is systemwide and cannot be individually targeted at a point level.
If you need to backfill data to the point, your state enumeration is incorrectly represented unless you reprocess every archive that has point.
Proposed solution:
The ability to reprocess individual points based on a time range or event history.
This will allow for more targeted data quality repairs
quicker than reprocessing an entire archive(s)
