Issue
On PI Data Archive, administrators can use the piartool -rsso command to verify whether the server is aware of and properly configured for Redundant Single Sign-On (RSSO) with AVEVA Identity Manager (AIM).
However, no equivalent verification mechanism exists for:
PI AF Server
PI Vision
PI Web API
There is currently no built-in, direct, and supported way to verify whether these components are correctly configured for RSSO, whether they detect redundant AIM servers, or what their effective configuration state is.
Enhancement Request
All major PI components (PI AF, PI Vision, PI Web API) must provide a native, supported command-line or diagnostic utility equivalent to piartool -rsso.
This functionality should:
Clearly display the configured AIM endpoints
Indicate whether redundancy is detected
Show the active/primary endpoint
Confirm successful connectivity and trust validation
The absence of such tooling creates inconsistency across the PI ecosystem and makes RSSO validation unnecessarily difficult.
If RSSO is a supported enterprise feature, then consistent verification tooling must exist across all core PI components.
Administrators should not have to rely on indirect log analysis or trial-and-error behavior to confirm a critical authentication dependency.
This should be addressed to ensure operational consistency, supportability, and proper enterprise-grade diagnostics across the platform.
