Allow updating child permissions when using Element Reference

We have two views of our assets

• geographical South-West-East-North (original view)

• contractor-based A-B-C-D. (view created using element references)

We have different geographical groups that need access to assets in their geographical location regardless of the contractor. We also have contractors who need access to their contracted assets regardless of the location.

We can give access based on geography using "Update child permissions" option. But when we do the same in the contractors view, the permissions are not propagated to the child elements.

In other words, "update child permissions" works only with the Primary parent of the asset. Changes on the secondary parents do not change the security of the asset.

There should be an option when updating security settings.

• Do not modify child permissions

• Replace all identities

• [Default] Update modified identities (excluding the referenced elements)

• Update modified identities (including the referenced elements)

Using this option, I would be able to add access for contactors easily from the parent element (A-B-C-D).
